2022 Annual Report
1. Open Meeting and Welcome:
Meeting was opened by President Wayne Koch (WK) and commenced at 10.30am.
2. Attendance:
31 members were present as per the attendance register.
3. Apologies:
Wayne Koch tabled the following apologies:
Richard Camm, Steve Ransted, Barry Mather, Simon Collins, Russell Clark, Cathy Vanderweide, Bill
Blackburn, John Matthews, Phil McGuiness, Phil Castle, Jodie Castle, Damian Matthews, Colin Davies,
Graeme Mason, Kevin Manning, Graham Edwards, Ken Inman, Ross Taylor, Brian Crowder.
4. Acceptance of Minutes from AGM held 14/02/2021: (WK) Proposed Brian Sweetapple, and seconded
Allan Corry. Passed unanimously.
5. Business Arising: (WK) Nil.
6. President’s Report: (WK)
WK outlined his appreciation and thanks to the committee for the hard
work and efforts over the last 12 months, and the continued support of our sponsors, patrons and
members throughout.
WK used this opportunity to record and respect with a minute’s silence, former PP&OA Members and club
identities who had passed away since the last AGM:
Steve Owen; Barry Vanderweide; Alan Montgomery; Chester Mackean; Tom Davis;
Shirley Daniels; Ken Bryan; Syd Shaw; Bill Curtis; Michael Ray; Lee Marshall;
The PP&OA has assisted the club with a number of events as detailed in the Club’s Annual Report for
season 2021.
Online Gala Auction;
Centurions Lunch;
Match Day Raffles and the RWF;
Match Day assistance when required;
Hosting Development Players to match day hospitality;
Colts Parents’ home game morning teas and travel assistance;
The “Red Legs” Bar will continue again in 2022 and WK thanked the loyal supporters for their ongoing
support and wished the club all the very best for the upcoming season.
WK asked that anyone who wished to help the PP&OA please consider volunteering to assist with the
match day raffle.
Bill Blackburn was also thanked for his efforts and his continued work with the dedicated PP&OA website.
Proposed Terry Rose and seconded Allan Corry. Passed unanimously.
7. Confirmation of Office Bearers: (WK)
WK confirmed that there are currently eleven positions on the PPP&OA Committee.
The following Committee Members’ terms have expired and they have again nominated for a further two
year term.
Wayne Koch - President;
Mike Hawthorne – Senior Vice President; Greg Dart – Secretary;
Keith Chapman – Committee;
Ian Hands – Committee;
Steve Ransted – Committee;
The following committee members have a further year until their term expires:
Brian Sweetapple – Junior Vice President; Greg Clatworthy – Treasurer;
Terry Rose - Committee;
Allan Corry – Committee;
Cos Fasolo – Committee;
Kevin Manning and John Davis have volunteered to assist with Special Projects.
8. Appointment of Auditor: (GC)
GC announced a nomination from Mel Bellgard (MB) to be appointed as
the PP&OA Auditor for the next 12 months. This will be the 21st year that Mel has served in the role as
auditor.
Proposed Andrew Owen – Seconded Brett Symons. Passed unanimously.
9. General Business: (All)
Allan Stiles, on behalf of members present, thanked President Wayne Koch and his committee for their
efforts throughout season 2021. Allan also mentioned that the South Perth Football Club is celebrating
their 100th anniversary in 2022 and are looking for old memorabilia.
Bob Shields addressed the meeting and advised that season 2022 may be similar to 2020, and to be
prepared for anything due to the impact of Covid.
Glenn Stewart (WCE) had been mentoring the PFC Strength & Conditioning people in an effort to reduce
injuries. Player intensity at training had stepped up on previous years and he invited members to attend
training to observe.
Brian Sweetapple advised that there were vacancies in both the 100 Club and Alphabet Racing.
10. Close of meeting (WK)
The meeting closed at 11.00 am and all present were invited to stay for refreshments and fellowship.
